Accessibility statement
What we have done, how we checked it, and what we have not done. This platform is used for hours at a time by auditors and operators; an interface they cannot operate is not a compliance tool.
What we target
WCAG 2.2 Level A, tested against the served pages rather than the source. A conformance claim checked against a repository is a claim about the generator, not about what anyone receives.
What is in place
- A skip link on every page (2.4.1), because a twelve-item navigation otherwise precedes the content on every view.
- Every data table carries an accessible name and column-scoped headers (1.3.1). The component refuses to render a table without one.
- No form control relies on a placeholder as its only label (3.3.2, 4.1.2).
prefers-reduced-motionis honoured (2.3.3): motion is removed, not shortened.- Colour is never the only signal (1.4.1). Severities and states carry a word as well as a hue, and each severity also has its own outline — octagon, triangle, diamond, circle, struck circle — so a findings table still ranks itself in greyscale or on a printed evidence pack. Callouts and the dashboard tiles carry a named shape for the same reason: their tone used to live in a coloured edge and nothing else, which this page previously described as covered when it was not.
- Numbers and digests are tabular and aligned, so columns compare by eye.
- Every primary function works with JavaScript disabled: filters and forms are ordinary HTML, and each filtered view is a real shareable URL.
- The interface follows the theme you choose, and the choice is applied server-side so the first paint is already correct.
How it is checked
By an automated probe against the deployed site, on every run — not by a one-off review. It asserts the skip link, the table semantics, the reduced-motion rule and that every design token a stylesheet references actually exists. It has been watched failing on each of those, because a check that has never gone red is not evidence.
What we have not done
Written down, because an accessibility statement that lists only successes is one nobody can rely on.
- No audit by a third party, and no testing with real assistive technology by a person who depends on it. Everything above is our own measurement.
- AA and AAA are not claimed. Colour contrast has been measured as passing AA across sampled elements, but the wider criteria are untested.
- The mobile layout has been rendered and inspected at 390 px, but not used on a physical device.
- Every table's sticky header, and the collapsible rows on the audit trail and pipeline history, have been checked with a keyboard and not yet with a screen reader.
If something here blocks you
Tell us and we will fix it: accessibility@rodmena.co.uk. Include the page and what you were trying to do. A barrier you hit is worth more to us than a criterion we passed.
